L2Paths - Pathways to Host Country Languages for Migrants
Project number: L2PATHS: 543020-LLP-1-2013-1-IT-KA2-KA2MP
Duration: 2013 - 2016
Following in the footsteps of the JOYN2.0 Language Learning Champions in Social Networks and On-line Media project and the PUMEC Professional Usage Of Media in Educational Context learning partnership, L2Paths brings together partners from Germany, Italy, Ireland, Latvia and Sweden to work towards creative solutions to language-learning issues faced by recent migrants to EU countries. These include lack of awareness about local options, courses that are too expensive or not adapted to learners' needs, lack of guidance and mentorship and poor ITC skills.
The project outputs include the establishment of Language Advice Centres, training of Language Advisors and the development of the Language Pathfinder System, enabling advisers and students to navigate learning choices based on their personal requirements.
At www.language-pathfinder.eu learners can register easily and free of charge. All they need is an e-mail address. Once they have registered, they can complete the assessment indicating their personal background, language level, learning goals and their requirements in terms of price, time and budget. The learners will then be presented with different learning options such as language courses, books, games, apps, radio and TV programmes, magazines, blogs, CDs, DVDs, etc. to create their personal learning plan and to make learning efficient and motivating.
In addition, learners can also rate materials and language courses and keep a learning diary. Thus, they can monitor and reflect on their learning progress and help other learners making the right choices for their learning plan.
The Pathfinder-Boxes are ready and will soon be sent out. Apart from promotional materials, each box contains a memory stick with a link to the Pathfinder-system and a brochure giving further information about the project.
If you are interested in receiving a Pathfinder-Box, please send an email to projects@iberika.de.
