Leonardo da Vinci

leonardo-da-vinciTo most people Leonardo da Vinci (1452 - 1519) is famous for being one of the great painters of the Renaissance, in particular for his paintings the Last Supper and the Mona Lisa. Very few people are aware that he was also an innovative and highly successful architect, mechanic, and engineer. Da Vinci was a multitalented genius who continued his education and discovered new branches of industry for himself his entire life long. It is for these reasons that the EU program for the promotion of vocational education and training was named after Leonardo da Vinci.

The Leonardo da Vinci program enables organisations in the vocational education sector to work with partners from across Europe, exchange best practices, and increase their staff’s expertise. It should make vocational education more attractive to young people and, by helping people to gain new skills, knowledge and qualifications, the program also boosts the overall competitiveness of the European labor market. For although the boundaries of the employment market within the EU are open, only a few jobholders utilize this opportunity to gather international experience. With the help of financial support from the Leonardo da Vinci Program this should be amended.

EU_flag_LLP_EN-01 (WinCE)Since 2011, iberika has taken part in one of the projects from the Leonardo da Vinci Program.  IVETAGR is a Transfer of Innovations project whereby new educational methods will be transferred to other countries. In this case all of the innovative teaching methods are based on social media. It is a very exciting concept!

Currently iberika takes part in the project EMAT (European Migrant Advisor Toolkit) which aims at improving the European Information Advice Guidance (IAG) providers work.
