The meeting focused on the online platform, the course curriculum in each country, dissemination and sustainability plans for the project. There's a lot of demand for this Interpreter Course in each country and we are diligently working to create a video and speech repository to boost the resource for online learners.
Joint Staff Training in Athens
For our final joint staff training, we traveled to Athens to our partners Active Citizens Partnership. As part of the training, we saw our work of our project in action. ACP organized a visit to the Greek Asylum Service in Athens for us to see where cultural mediators and interpreters are essential assets. At first, we were introduced to the general functions of the centre and learned about the asylum application process. With the head of communication and two interpreters, we also discussed different approaches to translation and cultural mediators relative to the specifiv target group. It was a very moving and intense experience that concluded the work of our project.
